Yesterday I already wrote about bStocks dividends and Binance announced that it would distribute Apple and IBM dividends through bStocks.
I spent a long time figuring out how it actually works. It turns out that:
1. You don’t receive cash
2. The net amount (after 30% tax) is automatically reinvested into additional $AAPLB or $IBMB
3. Your balance simply grows via the Multiplier
4. The first Snapshot for eligibility is August 10 at 00:00 UTC
For me, this is one of the most convenient moments of bStocks from @BinanceCIS : you hold a tokenized share 24/7 for USDT, and the dividends work for you without any action.
However, not all companies listed on bStocks regularly pay dividends (SpaceX / $SPCXB — no, Tesla / $TSLAB — also practically doesn’t pay, NVIDIA $NVDAB and Microsoft $MSFTB — do pay).
There are also a few other nuances—for example, during the processing of corporate actions, conversion and withdrawals may be temporarily paused.
You get the economic benefit from dividends, but you don’t have shareholder rights (voting, etc.)—it’s certificates, not direct ownership of shares. But, dear… buy stocks for 5 USDT and want voting rights 🤣🤷.Well, miracles in this world happen quite rarely, and this clearly isn’t the case. Has anyone already received dividend bStocks?
