BREAKING NEWS: 🇰🇷 South Korea's KOSPI index closed the seventh consecutive week of decline, its longest streak since 2022.

The index fell 5.1% this week and is now 33% below the June peak, wiping out $1.59 trillion in market value.

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix accounted for 76% of the losses as leveraged trading collapsed.

The collapse was so severe that circuit breakers halted trading multiple times, and officials called for an emergency market meeting.
