#布伦特原油上涨3.8% There was a noteworthy change in the market today: oil prices rebounded
Brent: $82.49/barrel
WTI: $78.08/barrel, continuing to rise intraday
But what is really making the market nervous is not just oil prices. It is Iran.
According to reports, a committee in Iran’s parliament is reviewing a bill: to ban ships from the United States, Israel, and those identified as “hostile countries” from passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Even more severe, violations could face fines of up to 20% of the cargo’s value. What does this mean?
If Hormuz really runs into transportation problems, the energy market could change almost instantly. Do not underestimate this strait. It is one of the world’s most important energy transport routes. Previously, about 1/5 of the world’s oil and LNG supply passed through here every day. So what the market is actually trading now is not whether oil prices have risen by a few percentage points, but whether the supply chain will have problems.
If Hormuz is really affected: oil prices - inflation pressure -
Federal Reserve rate-cut expectations - the U.S. dollar/Treasury yields - $BTC ,#ETH and risk assets may come under pressure
Crypto players must understand this chain of logic. But don’t rush into FOMO just yet. At the moment, this is only a bill under review, which does not mean Hormuz has already been blocked. What the market is speculating on now is risk expectations, not an actual supply disruption that has already happened. So the next key things to watch are three points:
- Can WTI continue to hold above $78
- Will rising oil prices further push up inflation expectations
- Can BTC withstand macro pressure
If oil prices keep surging while BTC weakens at the same time... then be careful. But if oil prices spike and then quickly pull back, and BTC instead holds firm or even rebounds? That may mean the market is cooling down its pricing of this geopolitical risk. So the question is: is this Hormuz risk just short-term FUD? Or will it become the next major variable for the global market? Will BTC be dragged down by oil, or continue to move on its own?
