If you're still assuming every $BTC swap route is safe because the app looks smooth, stop now.
Traders get wrecked not only by bad entries, but by broken exits. When swaps fail during volatility, your plan to move between Lightning, Liquid, or $USDT can turn into forced waiting.
Boltz’s closure just exposed a nasty dependency problem: integrated partners saw immediate failures, with Lightning and Liquid swaps breaking on Bull Bitcoin and Aqua Wallet. That’s not a minor UI bug. That’s infrastructure risk hitting users directly.
To be fair, integrations make crypto easier and faster. Most people don’t want to manage every rail manually. But this is exactly why I think convenience is being overpriced right now. If 2 major swap routes can fail because one provider goes down, $BTC users need to think harder about redundancy, not just speed.
Is this just a temporary disruption, or a warning that crypto wallets are becoming too dependent on single backend providers?
