The price increase is on the leaderboard, but the funds haven’t reached the “excited zone,” and this kind of move can easily lead people astray.

$PORTAL spot is now $0.0124, up 13.841% in the last 24h, with a range of $0.01085 to $0.01368. On the surface it has enough momentum, but spot trading volume is only $3.72M, while futures are $7.62M—futures/spot is 2.0x. This suggests that what pushed it onto the leaderboard today was more futures positioning moving first, not spot chasing it aggressively.

What’s even more interesting is that the funding rate is only +0.0050%, so it doesn’t look squeezed. Open interest is 209,634,257 PORTAL. If the price is pushed up while the funding rate stays suppressed, it’s likely short-term funds are cycling through repeatedly—not trending higher in one direction. The number of trades in the last 24h is 90,990 as well, which looks more like high-frequency back-and-forth after emotions get sparked, rather than steady accumulation.

I didn’t chase much on my side. I placed a small position and plan to try a short around $0.0133, with a stop loss at $0.0139. The logic is simple: the leaderboard “heat” is real, but the spot support/absorption still isn’t enough. If it returns to around $0.0120 and can hold there, I’ll cancel the short and not fight it head-on.
