According to CNBC, Meta is launching its first coding agent, Muse Code, as it seeks to compete with Anthropic and OpenAI. The tool is available in beta and works with Meta's Muse Spark 1.2 model, which specializes in coding. AI chief Alexandr Wang said Muse Code is a terminal coding agent that can be installed with one command and used to handle software engineering tasks such as planning changes, writing code, and validating results. He also said developers can access it through a pay-as-you-go option priced similarly to Muse Spark 1.1, at $1.25 per million tokens of input and $4.25 per million tokens of output, and through a contributor tier that he said is more than 10 times cheaper than the pay-as-you-go option.
