Slowing the pace of decline in Russian services activity in July
The Russian services sector recorded a slower pace of contraction in business activity during July, according to the latest Purchasing Managers Index survey issued by S&P Global today.
The S&P Global index for Russian services business activity stood at 49.00 points in July, up from 48.20 points in June.
The index showed a slower rate of decline in production levels among service providers over the past three months. The activity contraction occurred amid continued weakness in customer demand and ongoing decreases in new business inflows.
New orders fell for the fourth consecutive month at the start of the third quarter. The rate of contraction was marginal and eased to its weakest level in three months. Service providers indicated that weak customer purchasing power and lower demand levels affected total new sales.
