Prerequisites:
1. Already have a PayPal international/overseas collection account (email has registered for overseas collection and payment services)
2. Identity as an individual in China
Access PayPal international website / PayPal China website on computer or mobile
Step 1: Do not re-register, log in directly
Open international login:
paypal.com/signin
(Do not directly register a new account on paypal.cn)
Log in to your account
If you forget your password, click “Forgot Password” to reset
Ensure you can smoothly access the account homepage
The prompt “This email has been used to register for PayPal overseas collection and payment services” is normal, not an error
Step 2: Select the “Transfer to China” entry
After logging in, if you see two options:
Collection and Payment
Transfer to China ✅ Select “Transfer to China”
Reason:
“Collection and Payment” only uses the original overseas collection function
“Transfer to China” will:
Activate individual seller identity in China
Support RMB withdrawals
Be compliant and legal
Step 3: Identity verification & information supplement
Complete the following as prompted:
Identity information verification
Identity card number
Facial recognition
Bind domestic bank card
For RMB settlement and withdrawals
Fill in the store/content link (required but optional type)
Have an independent site: fill in the independent site link
No independent site: fill in social platform/content platform homepage (Twitter, Gumroad, Patreon, YouTube, Bilibili, etc.)
The link must be real and accessible, and consistent with the purpose of collection
Step 4: Review
The system will review your information
Fastest half an hour, slowest 1–2 working days
After the review is approved, your account status will change to:
Individual seller in China
Can receive global payments
Can directly withdraw RMB to domestic bank card
Fully compliant, no need for foreign exchange declaration
Step 5: Usage advice (new account nurturing)
New account is advised to collect no more than $5,000 in the first month
Small amounts collected multiple times → account is more stable
Can gradually open more collection methods (links, QR codes, buttons, online bills, etc.)
