#baby $BABY I’ve noticed that discussions around $BABY have recently picked up significantly. Aside from doing tasks, many people are speculating about its future role: an airdrop credential? A GAS token? Or governance weight? The official side hasn’t pinned it down yet, but following the path of underlying protocols like Babylon, a governance token is almost a given. Suppose BABY truly becomes involved in community governance down the road—then the first-hand feedback from the testnet should be taken seriously.
Yesterday, I revisited a few interaction points from @BabylonLabs_io integrated with Aave V4, and I found three frequent pain points. First, after depositing, there’s no progress tracking for the waiting period. On the testnet, you’re basically just staring at nothing while waiting for block confirmations; on mainnet, it could take one or two hours, and users will feel anxious. Second, the default parameters for “sacrificing the treasury” are larger than those for protecting the treasury. This might be reasonable from a game-theory perspective, but it isn’t explained clearly in the UI—ordinary users may end up thinking, “Are most of my coins being sacrificed?” Third, the countdown for the redemption challenge window isn’t eye-catching enough; many people might forget and then miss the operation window.
These aren’t problems with underlying cryptography—they’re product and frontend issues. If the community can, in the future, use BABY holders’ votes to push product iteration priorities, then proposals like “add a real-time Peg-in tracking bar,” “rename the sacrificed treasury and add guidance,” and “mobile reminders for the challenge period” are more practical than debating grand roadmaps. Historically, early Uniswap and AAVE governance also started out with user-experience tweaks and refinements, and only later did a moat begin to take shape.
So right now, the testnet is actually the best window. There’s a chance the feedback will be incorporated into the mainnet version early. If BABY can truly become the handle and incentive for this kind of feedback, then it won’t be just a task reward—it could be a ticket into the next round of BTC DeFi construction. This time you ran the testnet—what would you most like to change? Drop it in the comments; who knows, maybe future BABY governance votes will have yet another item. @BabylonLabs_io $BTC
