U.S. Democratic Senator Alex Padilla plans to introduce a bill that would ban the president from offering users paid early access to public statements or social media posts. According to Odaily, the proposal targets a paid service recently launched by Trump Media and Technology Group that gives users real-time alerts for content posted by U.S. President Donald Trump and others on social platforms, including some posts that may contain market-moving information.

Padilla said Trump's public remarks should not be sold as an early trading advantage to select paying users. He said that if market participants can receive faster notice of presidential statements through a paid service, it could create unfair information asymmetry. Trump Media and Technology Group has not responded to the legislative plan.
