Toyota profits decline in the first quarter and announces share buyback worth $6.4 billion
Toyota Motor reported Tuesday a slight decline in first-quarter earnings for the fiscal year, due to repercussions stemming from the conflict in the Middle East, which affected sales and supply chains.

However, the world’s largest automaker by volume announced a share buyback program worth 1 trillion yen ($6.40 billion) and raised its full-year outlook.

Operating income for the three months ended on 30/06 fell 8.80% year-on-year to 1.06 trillion yen, while revenue rose 10.40% to reach 13.52 trillion yen.
