Web3.0 is the next generation of the internet built on blockchain, smart contracts, and distributed networks. Its core is to reconstruct the production relationships of the internet and completely overturn the ecosystem of Web2’s centralized monopoly.

In the Web2 era, the internet is dominated by major platforms. Users create content, accumulate data, and generate traffic value, yet they cannot enjoy the benefits. Personal data, social relationships, and account privileges are all controlled by platforms, resulting in a severely imbalanced value distribution.

Web3.0 returns data and value to users. With decentralized identities, encrypted wallets, and distributed storage, users truly own their personal digital identity and data sovereignty. Accounts are not arbitrarily banned, and assets and relationship chains can flow across platforms, freeing users from platform ecosystem lock-in. At the same time, the token economy model, NFT legal ownership (verification) of rights, and smart contracts automatically distributing profits break the monopoly of platform take-rates, allowing creators and community contributors to directly receive value returns.

At the organizational and application levels, DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations) replace traditional centralized company models, enabling communities to build, govern, and share together. New tracks such as DeFi, on-chain gaming, decentralized social platforms, and tokenization/anchoring of real-world assets (RWA) connect the digital world with the real economy, removing barriers and enriching the forms of internet applications.

Currently, Web3.0 is still in its early stages. Issues remain such as performance bottlenecks, high user barriers, an incomplete regulatory framework, and project bubble-like behavior, meaning it has not yet achieved large-scale adoption.

Overall, Web3.0 will not completely replace Web2. Instead, it will form a complementary evolutionary landscape. Its core value is to fix the monopolistic downsides of the traditional internet and drive the internet from “platform-owned” to a new ecosystem of “user-owned and value-shared.”
