After getting involved in the crypto market for six years, I have never seen a miracle of getting rich overnight. What I’ve seen is countless ordinary people defeated by greed and impatience—including me.
When I first entered, I only wanted to use my spare time to make a little extra money for living expenses. Watching the price chart flash red and green, and seeing other people post screenshots of doubling profits, the first time I felt that saving money by working steadily was just too slow.
I started staying up late to stare at the charts. During the day I would be distracted at work, and in the deep night I would just sit there blankly watching the K-lines. A few small wins made me feel overconfident. I mistakenly believed that short-term luck was actually my true ability.
A real collapse has never been silent.
Back then, the market kept churning in a range, with needles stabbing up and down nonstop. I wasn’t willing to settle for small swing-trading profits, so I began placing orders more frequently, trading with heavy positions, and holding positions without stopping losses. I always thought the pullback was only temporary—surely it would rebound and get me back to even.

In just half a month, all the profits I had previously made were paid back in full. Even the principal I had worked so hard to save suffered a large withdrawal. In countless late nights, staring at the losing account, I was both annoyed and regretful. I clearly understood the choppy, range-bound market—but I still lost to my own greed.
Only later did I finally understand:

Some people accumulate slowly by holding positions steadily. Others keep trading frequently and end up losing continuously. The market will never lie. In the end, all your impulsiveness, your luck-chasing, and your heavy positioning will turn into real, concrete losses.
Now, I no longer chase pumps or selloffs, and I no longer fantasize about turning things around overnight. If I can read the trend, I take small swing trades with a small position. If the direction is unclear, I go flat and wait. With a cup of coffee and a computer, I quietly wait for the certainty that belongs to me.
Practicing in the crypto world is never about learning technical skills—it’s about mindset. Opportunities will always be there. But once your principal is gone, you truly have nothing left.
