People offen used to believe the biggest danger in crypto was losing money because of bad trades or sudden market crashes. Now I think a lot of those problems begin with something much simpler: trust.
Every time we hand over control of our assets, rely on a small group of validators, or assume someone will act honestly when things go wrong, we're accepting a risk that isn't always obvious. Most days nothing happens, so it's easy to ignore. But when that trust fails, the consequences can spread far beyond one wallet or one transaction.
It wasn't the token that caught my interest first. It was the idea of reducing how much users need to depend on people instead of the protocol itself. I think there's a big difference between trusting individuals and trusting a system with clear, predictable rules.
For me, that's closer to the original purpose of crypto. The goal wasn't simply to swap one middleman for another. It was to build networks where confidence comes from transparent design rather than promises.
No protocol can remove trust entirely and maybe that's not even realistic. The real question is whether it can reduce the amount of trust users are forced to place in others.
