The Nasdaq rebounded 2.8% today and ended six days of losses. Bitcoin fell 2.67% and closed July at 63,030.

If you opened a trade today because stocks were green, you didn’t follow a plan. You traded a correlation that didn’t exist today.

There’s one piece of data that explains the day better than any analysis: $9.6 billion in Bitcoin options expired. For each put there were almost four calls. Almost everyone was positioned to the upside.

That’s not the market giving you a signal. It’s an expiration that had been on the calendar for weeks.

Between those two interpretations is the difference between a planned trade and a reaction.
