Foresight News reports, citing bits.media, that a Moscow court in Russia has sent BitRiver’s founder, Igor Runets, a crypto mining company, to a pre-trial detention center, where he will be held for at least two months.

Foresight News previously reported that a commercial court in Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast has initiated bankruptcy monitoring proceedings against Fox Group, which holds 98% of BitRiver’s shares. The debt stems from an approximately 700 million ruble equipment supply contract: after receiving the advance payment, BitRiver failed to deliver the equipment. Its founder and CEO, Igor Runets, was placed under house arrest for alleged tax evasion.
