SEC Chair Paul Atkins said the agency is prepared, willing, and able to write crypto market regulation rules if Congress does not pass the Clarity Act. According to PANews, Atkins said in a CNBC interview that regulation is the forward-looking approach and that the market needs regulatory certainty so the framework does not change with administrations.

Atkins said he remains optimistic that Congress will pass the bill and that the SEC is providing technical assistance. He also wrote on X on Tuesday that he is committed to supporting Congress as it advances the Clarity Act.

The Clarity Act passed the House of Representatives 294-134 in July last year and cleared the Senate Banking Committee 15-9 in May. It has not yet received a full Senate vote and needs 60 votes to advance.
