Huatai Securities said Xinyu Lithium Battery’s August pre-production schedule for the lithium battery supply chain shows sample-company battery output at 198.8 GWh, up 8.9% month on month. Cathode materials totaled 244,000 tonnes, up 3.5%; anode materials 214,000 tonnes, up 4.9%; separators 2.23 billion square meters, up 0.9%; and electrolyte 141,000 tonnes, up 5.6%, with the seasonal peak effect continuing, according to Jiemian News. The brokerage said domestic and overseas energy-storage demand remains strong, global vehicle electrification is still accelerating, and export-tax-refund-driven shipments and the seasonal grid-connection peak for energy storage are also supporting a pickup in production in the second half. Huatai Securities also said it remains optimistic about the current lithium battery price-up cycle, as well as the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries and solid-state battery technologies.
