Refuting the rumor! Kabosu’s owner clarifies: The CATE token is a counterfeit copy—only DOG and COCORO are official projects
On July 28, Atsuko Sato, the owner of the Kabosu prototype Shiba Inu (Doge), publicly refuted the rumor: the large number of CATE series tokens circulating on the market recently have no connection to her whatsoever.
She explained that earlier she had only posted a routine update on Instagram, but her content was then illegally stolen and used by third parties to fraudulently issue fake tokens—deliberately creating the illusion of an official partnership. She expressed regret and noted that many high-influence accounts on the X platform are also blindly spreading the false information, further misleading the market.
Atsuko Sato stated clearly that, currently, the only partnership project that has her official IP authorization and is legally operated is Own The Doge.
That team acquired the classic Doge NFT as early as 2021 and issued the DOG token. They have long been responsible for the official Doge Day events, public welfare and charity initiatives, and the operation of all Kabosu-related intellectual property rights. In 2025, the two parties partnered again, launching the COCORO token on the Base chain. This is a compliant and legitimate official derivative token.
She emphasized that all revenue from official projects is used to care for her own pets and for animal protection public welfare work under “withkabosu.” At the same time, she reminded investors: all tokens that misuse Kabosu’s name are fake projects. Always follow her official announcements, and be wary of counterfeit “air coins” that try to ride the trend, to avoid losses and getting trapped.
