🔥Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has prosecuted Pavel Durov (the founder of Telegram) on charges of supporting terrorist activities and has put him on an international wanted list.
🔥The FSB accuses Telegram of not removing a number of channels, group chats, and bots that Russia believes are used by Ukraine’s intelligence agencies, terrorist organizations, and extremists to coordinate sabotage activities, attacks, and scams.
🔥As of now, Telegram has not issued an official statement regarding these new allegations.
🔥Reuters reports that Telegram’s official account on X has only posted a photo of Durov, with no detailed response yet.

🔥This is not the first time Russia has taken legal action against Pavel Durov. Since the beginning of 2026, Russia has opened an investigation with similar allegations, as the country steps up control over the internet and promotes domestic messaging platforms.
🔥Durov is currently a citizen of France and the UAE in addition to his Russian roots, and is believed to be outside Russian territory. Whether the arrest or extradition resulting from the warrant will occur will depend on the laws and relations between the relevant countries.
