【What I was thinking the night FNG hit 27】
Last night, while watching the chart, ETH hovered around 1875 for nearly 6 hours.
What’s interesting is that the market has been swinging between 1814 and 1912 for 7 straight days; over the past 24 hours it’s up 0.7%, and over 7 days up 1%. It looks like it’s about to choose a direction.
Trading volume was extremely quiet—everyone is waiting.
But what really made me take a second look last night was the Fear & Greed Index—dropping to 27.
What does this number mean? It means retail investors are cutting losses and exiting; it means fear is in control. At the same time, though, ETH hasn’t been making new lows anymore, and at the weekly level there are even hints of a small rebound.
This isn’t meaningless data. What I’m saying is: historically, when FNG is below 27, it often shows up as a characteristic signal of a bottoming area. It was validated in 2019 and 2020. When people are panicking, the smart money is setting up—I've said that for twenty years, and every time I see it, I think, “Yeah, that’s the real deal.”
Now look at valuation. ETH is down about 62% from its peak—so is that oversold? I’m not here to judge. I’m just saying what I see: the current price is already in a historically undervalued range. The key question is—has the fundamentals really changed at the root?
Ethereum’s ecosystem is still there, staking is increasing, and after the ETF approvals, institutions are still flowing in continuously.
So my conclusion: I tried establishing a core position here, with my stop-loss at 1814. If it breaks, I’ll admit the loss and exit. For targets, first I’m watching whether it can get past 1912. My position size is kept light—I don’t need to go all-in to prove anything. I just want to keep an entry ticket for this spot.
Honestly, I’ve seen too many people cut at the bottom, then come back during the rally. Every cycle, this story plays out—new batch of people, same script.
