Verus' Ethereum cross-chain bridge lost more than $7.5 million in assets after an exploit, according to NS3.AI. The attacker forged cross-chain proofs to withdraw Ethereum reserve assets from the bridge.

The incident marks another security setback for Verus. The bridge was previously hit by an $11.58 million hack in May.
