Charles River Associates (Nasdaq code: CRAI) has announced that Kevin Williams, an economics professor at the Yale University School of Management, has joined the firm as an academic advisor for its antitrust and competition economics practice.
Paul Maleh, President and CEO of CRA, said that Williams is a well-known expert in the field of industrial organization economics, with a particular focus on how market structure and competitive forces affect pricing, product supply, and market entry. Margaret Sanderson, Global Head of CRA’s Antitrust and Competition Economics practice, noted that as dynamic pricing becomes increasingly important in industries such as travel, transportation, e-commerce, and energy, Williams’s expertise will help clients address issues such as pricing behavior, competitive dynamics, and market outcomes in regulatory and litigation matters.
In addition to a faculty position at Yale, Williams is also a research fellow at the Cowles Foundation, a researcher at the Center for Algorithmic Data and Market Design, and a visiting associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research has been published in top-tier journals such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and has been covered by several major media outlets. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, as well as M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
