Solv Protocol on BNB Smart Chain’s BTC+ contract was attacked today due to a leak of the deployer’s private key, marking the second security incident for the protocol since the BRO treasury vulnerability in March. The attacker used the stolen deployer private key to gain control of the contract; the exact loss amount is still being assessed.
According to preliminary analysis by a security monitoring platform, the attack method is similar to previous private-key leak incidents involving protocols such as Resolv—private key leakage has become the biggest breakthrough point in DeFi security in 2026.
CoinDesk statistics show that in the first half of the year, losses of crypto assets due to private key leaks accounted for as much as 40%. The Solv team has paused the related contracts and launched an emergency investigation, urging users to refrain from interacting with SolvBTC+ on the BSC chain for the time being.
It’s worth noting that Solv Protocol completed infrastructure migration from LayerZero to Chainlink CCIP in May this year. The protocol manages about $700 million in tokenized bitcoin assets.
