Combining the recent statements from the founder of Uniswap, I speculate that they are focusing on on-chain derivatives products. As the largest DEX entry point, there is no reason not to partake in derivatives. However, creating a completely decentralized on-chain derivative is uncertain in terms of market acceptance. Hyperliquid is currently partially centralized, with matching, clearing, and risk control decided by the platform. At present, the market seems to accept it, which is a good balance, but the future is uncertain. I look forward to Uniswap's own derivatives, which will be comparable to Binance launching contracts in 2019.
