«Whale» moved 5,908 BTC (about $382 million) from an address that had been inactive for ~8 years.
The transfer was made from the address 138EM…ReyiT, which received 5,908 BTC at the end of 2017. At that time, Bitcoin was trading around $16,800, and the value of all those coins was about $99.6 million. All 5,908 bitcoins were transferred in a single transaction to a new address that has not yet been publicly identified. After the transfer, the funds have so far remained without any further movement. Such operations are often associated with changing how the asset is stored and, by themselves, do not indicate the owner’s intention to sell the cryptocurrency, Arkham specialists clarified.
