I once looked at an encryption project and my main focus was whether it had new technology.

But now I’m paying more and more attention to another issue:

Does it have the ability to truly turn existing technology into a product that ordinary users are willing to use?

For many projects, the problem isn’t that the technology isn’t good enough—it’s that there’s a very thick layer of distance between the technology and the users.

My impression of GRVT is that it’s trying to fill that gap.

It isn’t focused on creating a completely unfamiliar financial system. Instead, it redesigns the trading experience on top of existing infrastructure.

Off-chain order books solve the speed problem; zero-knowledge technology addresses verification and privacy; the yield protocol tackles idle capital; and the RWA direction provides more asset-application scenarios.

Taken individually, these aren’t entirely new concepts.

But where the real value lies is whether they can form a closed loop.

Why is traditional finance so efficient?

Not because every single component is invented by itself, but because trading, clearing, and asset management are highly interconnected.

DeFi’s biggest problem in the past was also the lack of this kind of connection.

Users have assets, but the assets often sit across different protocols; to earn yield, they need to keep operating; to trade, they need to readjust their funds.

If a platform can reduce this fragmentation and keep capital flowing continuously within safe boundaries, then what it solves isn’t really a feature problem—it’s an entire user-experience problem.

Of course, I also believe the market won’t easily grant any project a moat.

An open ecosystem means innovation can spread quickly.

The model GRVT is exploring today will definitely be tried by more teams in the future.

So in the long run, what it needs to prove isn’t “I have technology that others don’t,” but rather: “Even if others copy my direction, I still have a stronger user network and capital efficiency.”

That’s also the cruelest part of financial products.

Technology determines whether you can get started; users and the ecosystem determine how far you can go.

So when observing GRVT, I’d rather look at its real performance data in the future than staying at the level of concept discussions.

Truly excellent financial infrastructure ultimately comes down to one most simple question:

Why are users willing to keep their assets here?
