Suspected hack of the Hedera network transfers more than $5.8 million to Ethereum
The Hedera (HBAR) network has faced notable pressure following reports from security researchers that a suspected breach occurred, resulting in the transfer of assets worth over $5.8 million from the network to Ethereum via the LayerZero protocol.
According to initial analyses, a large portion of the assets was converted to ETH after crossing between networks, while cybersecurity firms continue to track the wallets linked to the incident and monitor on-chain fund movements.
This coincided with a decline in the HBAR price of more than 2%, as it traded near the $0.069 level, amid investor anticipation of an official statement from the Hedera team outlining the details of the incident and the actual size of the damage.
So far, there is no confirmed information about the party responsible or the final value of the losses, while investigations and technical follow-up are still ongoing.
🔹 Do you think the impact of the incident on HBAR will be temporary, or will it be reflected in investor confidence in the long term?
