The XRP token cannot be added anymore because its total supply has been fixed at 100 billion tokens since the launch of the XRP Ledger in 2012.
Total XRP Supply
All 100 billion XRP were created at the beginning, without any mining, staking, or inflation mechanisms to create new tokens. This total supply is permanent and cannot be increased.
Current Circulating Supply
Currently (December 2025), the circulating supply of XRP is around 60 billion tokens, with the remainder in Ripple escrow or held by stakeholders. The circulating supply can gradually increase from monthly escrow releases, but the total supply remains capped.
Deflation Mechanism
On the contrary, the supply of XRP may gradually shrink because transaction fees on the XRPL are permanently burned, creating a light deflation effect.
This makes XRP scarcer over time with high network activity.
