Nasdaq is expanding the distribution of its market data to blockchain infrastructure, making one of its leading equity data products available through Pyth Network, as financial firms increasingly develop trading and settlement applications on blockchain platforms.
On Tuesday, the stock exchange operator announced that it will publish its TotalView market data via the Pyth Data Marketplace, a platform that distributes institutional datasets for blockchain networks, financial applications, and software developers. The move broadens users’ access to one of Nasdaq’s major market data offerings through a programmable interface, rather than traditional market data distribution channels.
TotalView provides comprehensive order book depth data, showing buy and sell orders at every price level for securities traded on Nasdaq, including shares listed on Nasdaq, NYSE, and regional exchanges. The product also includes Nasdaq’s Net Order Imbalance Indicator, which delivers a real-time view of buy and sell imbalances ahead of opening and closing auctions.
For Nasdaq, the partnership expands how its market data reaches customers, as financial infrastructure evolves—moving beyond trading terminals and dedicated market data feeds, toward cloud-based software and blockchain-technology applications.
