Key takeaways

  • Your assets remain safe and secure, and will remain accessible at all times.

  • Binance has withdrawn its MiCA application in Greece and remains determined to pursue authorization in another EU member state.

  • Some users may be affected depending on their country and the status of their account, and we will contact the users concerned directly regarding the next steps and available options.

At Binance, we believe users should receive important information directly from us, clearly and in a timely manner. This priority is even stronger when regulatory developments are likely to affect some of our users' access to our services.

Today, we want to share an update on our journey to obtain MiCA authorization in Europe, what this means for our users, and the next steps.

What’s changing

Binance has decided to withdraw its MiCA authorization application with the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC) in Greece and continue pursuing authorization in another EU member state. When the time comes, we will publicly announce that member state.

This decision was made after a thorough review of the progress and timeline of the process in Greece, placing the interests of our users at the center of our considerations.

For many months, Binance has been working constructively and in good faith with the HCMC. However, in the absence of a formal decision as the MiCA transition period draws to a close, we have made the prudent decision to move forward in a way that brings more clarity to users and allows us to continue pursuing a compliant and sustainable path in Europe.

What this means for you

The most important message is this: your funds remain safe and secure.

We are reaching out to all our EU users. These communications will explain:

  • if any action is required

  • what options may be available

  • any relevant timeline

  • where to get support

Please contact customer service directly to answer your questions and understand the actions you need to take. To contact customer service, click here: https://www.binance.com/support. Binance will never contact you by phone.

Our priority is to minimize disruption, provide clarity, and ensure users are treated fairly throughout this process.

Why we’re communicating now

We understand that uncertainty can create confusion and concern. We also know that trust is built when users have clear information in time to make informed decisions.

That’s why we’re sharing this update now.

When regulatory timelines change or authorization processes create uncertainty, we believe the right approach is to communicate early, be transparent about what is known, and provide practical guidance to users as soon as possible.

Our commitment to Europe remains unchanged

Although we withdrew our application in Greece, Binance remains committed to Europe.

Europe is a strategic region for Binance, and our ambition to operate under a clear, fair, and harmonized MiCA framework remains unchanged. We continue to support MiCA’s goal of creating a consistent regulatory framework for crypto-assets across the EU, and we are confident in our ability to obtain authorization in another EU member state in the coming months.

Our long-term vision for Europe has not changed:

  • serve users responsibly and in compliance

  • contribute to supporting a trustworthy digital asset ecosystem

  • and continue building for the long term in the region.

What you need to do now

For now, we encourage users to:

  • monitor their email address and in-app notifications for account-specific updates

  • read carefully all communications we send

  • contact customer service if they have questions about their options.

If any action is required for your account, we will contact you directly with clear next steps.

Please stay alert to scams: Binance will never contact you by phone. All communications will be sent through Binance’s official channels or by email. We will never ask for your password, A2F codes, or private keys.

We’re here to support you

We understand that regulatory changes can be frustrating, especially when they create uncertainty. Our priority is to support these changes responsibly and keep users informed at every step.

We’re grateful for the trust our European users place in us. We do not take that trust for granted.

We remain focused on a rigorous approach: protecting users, staying compliant, and continuing to build a safe, trustworthy platform for the future.
