Foresight News report: According to Caijing (Fortune) magazine, the crypto venture capital firm Framework Ventures announced the completion of fundraising for its fourth fund, with a size of $400 million. Investors include fund-of-funds (FOF), endowment funds from Ivy League institutions, sovereign wealth funds, and non-profit organizations; a detailed list has not been disclosed. According to U.S. SEC filings, as of December 2025, the firm managed assets totaling $1.28 billion.

Framework co-founders Vance Spencer and Michael Anderson said the new fund will invest in areas they call “frontier technologies,” not only including crypto, but also AI, robotics, and energy. So far, about half of the fourth fund has been deployed. Anderson said this shift follows changes in the interests of the founder network rather than simply chasing the AI hype.

Framework Ventures was established in 2019. In its early days, it focused on investing in the DeFi sector and participated in early rounds of leading protocols such as Aave and Chainlink. Previously, it completed $100 million and $400 million second- and third-round fundraisings in 2021 and 2022, respectively. The firm’s peer, Paradigm, is reportedly raising a new fund with a size of up to $1.5 billion, which will also target the AI and robotics sectors. Haun Ventures—founded by a former partner of a16z’s crypto business—has also raised a $1 billion second-round fund, expanding its investment scope to include AI, financial services, and alternative assets.
