Never risk more than 1% of the portfolio in any trade
Why?
Because one single trade shouldn’t determine your future in the market
If you win? Great... that 1% will grow as the portfolio grows
And if you lose? You’ll still be there, ready for the next opportunity
After a period of discipline, the size of the 1% you trade today can become larger than the entire portfolio you started with the first time
The market doesn’t reward the reckless...
