Was SpaceX FOMO?

After years of anticipation, Elon Musk's company finally hit the NASDAQ under the ticker SPCX. The stock debuted with strong demand and quickly surged in the first 15 days. At its peak, shares even topped $225, reflecting the market's optimism.

As of June 23, 2026, the stock is trading at $154.60, down 3.95% for the day. The market cap is around $2.03 trillion.

A lot of investors jumped in out of pure FOMO (fear of missing out), driven by the hype around the company and its owner, Musk.

The initial surge was impressive, but the recent correction shows that not all hype holds up. In the end, those who bought at the IPO and held on still have substantial gains, but the question “was it FOMO?” is still on many investors’ minds.
