HTX Suspends WLFI Trading Amid Sanctions Dispute
JustinSuntron and #WLFI have been tense again these past few days, folks. We thought it would calm down, but no—someone just ramped up the drama again!!!
On June 5, the #HTX exchange officially suspended trading for the following pairs related to #WLFI:
- WLFI/USDT,
- USD1/USDT,
- BTC/USD1 and
- ETH/USD1.
The issue stems from #WLFI freezing certain on-chain addresses connected to HTX, citing compliance with UK sanctions measures related to the Huobi entity designated on May 26, 2026.
In response, HTX quickly converted all users’ USD1 balances into USDT on a 1:1 basis, and simultaneously paused deposits and withdrawals of USD1.
At the same time, HTX sent an urgent request to WLFI demanding that the freezing order be lifted immediately. HTX also emphasized that these assets are lawfully owned by individual investors who bought them with their own funds—not assets of the exchange or any sanctioned entity.
This situation once again highlights the major risk that token projects may unilaterally freeze users’ assets, raising serious questions about actual ownership on the blockchain amid mounting regulatory pressure.
Remember to turn on account notification mode for @justinsuntron and @trondao to get updates, everyone!
