Can Satoshi's wallets be hacked?

🔵 Satoshi has 1.1 million BTC in old addresses. These wallets use the same cryptography as all of Bitcoin: it is impossible to guess the private key — you need to go through 2^256 options, which is physically unfeasible.

🔵 However, some of the early addresses of the old format, where the public key is already fully disclosed on the blockchain. If a way to hack the signature ever appears, it will be these early addresses that will be hacked first.

🔵 About quantum computers: an algorithm that could theoretically break such signatures exists. But for it to work, a quantum machine with thousands of stable qubits is required, which means — millions physically. We are currently at the initial level. Real estimates are the end of the 2020s or 2030s, and that is very optimistic.

🔵 If such a threat becomes real, not only Satoshi will be at risk, but all old addresses, reuse wallets, exchanges, and old multisigs. The community will update the protection before a working attack appears.

🐦 Satoshi's wallets can only be hacked with the simultaneous emergence of super-quantum hardware and a complete lack of network updates.$BTC $BNB $ETH
