As someone who’s been trading crypto for a while but only recently started looking into US stocks and ETFs, I have a big question.
I’ve noticed that many people recommend holding strong companies long-term (like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia), but at the same time there are a lot of traders making money on short-term swings.
My question is:
How do you personally decide which US stocks or ETFs to hold for the long term versus which ones to trade actively for shorter periods?
I’ve been mostly buying based on news and hype, but I’m starting to realize this might not be the smartest approach, especially during volatile times. Would love to hear real strategies from more experienced investors.
