Article: Towards Ethical Trading.. Rights of Traders and Duty of Compensation

In a time where digital transformation is speeding up, trading platforms have become a gateway for many into the investment world. Unfortunately, for some, it has turned into a trap that devours savings and dreams. Thousands of traders, especially the newbies, have lost their funds not due to bad luck or market downturns, but because of opportunistic and misleading practices from some unlicensed or notorious platforms.

First: the need to compensate affected traders

Loss in trading is normal, but itโ€™s abnormal for it to be caused by deception or fraud. Therefore, we call for:

ยท Establish a fund to protect traders, funded by platform licensing fees, to compensate those proven to have been harmed by unethical practices.

ยท Activate fast, fair, independent arbitration mechanisms, separate from the platforms.

ยท Require platforms to prove sufficient capital adequacy and risk coverage before being allowed to operate.

Second: proposals to make trading more ethical

1. Mandatory transparency โ€“ clearly disclose the percentage of winning and losing trades to real traders, not demo accounts.

2. Ban misleading advertisements โ€“ those that promote earning thousands of dollars in just a few days.

3. Acceptance tests for new traders โ€“ measure their understanding of risks before depositing funds.

4. Set a maximum leverage for beginners, increasing gradually according to experience.

5. Ban the deliberate practice of โ€œstop huntingโ€ (targeting stop orders) and criminalize price manipulation.

Third: ethical values for e-commerce and trading

For e-commerce in general:

ยท Digital integrity: full disclosure of the product/service and the terms of sale.

ยท Privacy as trust: do not exploit usersโ€™ data.

ยท Fairness in categorization and ratings: prevent fake reviews.

Especially for trading:

ยท Information fairness โ€“ ban trading based on insider information not available to everyone.

ยท Integrity in execution โ€“ no manipulation of the price spread or delaying orders for the platformโ€™s benefit.

ยท Responsibility โ€“ provide clear risk warnings, and make available a tool called โ€œmandatory closingโ€ to protect the trader from losing all capital.

ยท Automated transparency โ€“ disclose the algorithms of automated trading and the extent to which their interests conflict.

In conclusion

Electronic trading is not haram or harmful by itself, but letting opportunists prey on it will make everyone lose trust. We need an ethical system that protects the weak, punishes the exploiter, and honors the fair. A fair market is a thriving one for everyone.
