Yesterday I posted that the long-short ratio was dropping, and the bulls were backing off. Today the data updated, and things got more interesting.
Bull accounts ratio: from 53.7% → 51.0%.
A 2.7 percentage point drop in three days. The price at $BTC is still hovering around $77K, but the bulls are thinning out.
What's the scene like? You're in a room that started with 54 people bullish. Three days later, only 51 are left. A few more quietly slipped out the door.
And the active buy-sell ratio is even wilder: it shot up to 1.6 (with buyers in control) in the morning, then plummeted below 0.9 in the afternoon. Those who rushed in during that morning wave have faded by the afternoon.
Open Interest (OI) continues to drop, and the funding rate is at 0.0035%, nearly zero. Neither side owes the other anything.
To sum up the current derivatives state in one sentence: shorts are closing positions, bulls are exiting, and new money isn't coming in. All three parties are waiting.
Waiting for what? For a volume spike, no matter if it goes up or down.
