According to a report from Crypto Lender Ledn, the consumer Bitcoin collateral loan market could skyrocket nearly 300 times over the next decade, hitting a whopping $1 trillion, fueled by the demand for digital asset-backed lending far outpacing actual usage. Research firm Protocol Theory surveyed 1,244 crypto holders in the US and Australia, finding that 88% of respondents are considering crypto collateral loans, yet only 14% are actually using them, indicating a significant '6 to 1 gap between consideration and adoption.' Ledn estimates that the current Bitcoin-backed consumer loan market stands at about $3 billion. Galaxy Research previously projected that the overall crypto loan market will reach a historic high of $73.6 billion by Q3 2025. The report from Ledn highlights that rebuilding trust remains the biggest hurdle for the industry, with Ledn co-founder Mauricio Di Bartolomeo stating that the infrastructure to instill borrower confidence still needs improvement.
