Last night, I was keeping an eye on the ETH ETF data, with a net outflow of $32.55 million, and I sat in silence for a moment.

It's not that this number is huge, but the timing is a bit delicate. $BTC is currently hovering around 77,500, with a 24-hour high-low difference of almost $1,500, and the contract turnover is $8.3 billion, while the spot market is only $780 million, a ratio of 10.7x.

I've been watching this ratio for several days, and it just won't budge.

The contract turnover is more than 10 times that of the spot market, indicating that most players are using leverage to bet on direction, rather than stockpiling spot. With the institutions pulling out of the ETH ETF, and retail traders squeezing each other in the contracts on $BTC , when looking at both situations together, it feels like the whole market is currently "held up by sentiment, but not very solid underneath."

Funding rate at +0.001%, quite low, and the bulls are not showing any signs of overheating. That's the only thing that gives me some comfort; at least we're not in that scenario where the funding rate spikes to 0.05% and then gets reverse harvested.

But I'm a bit worried about the continuous outflows from the ETH ETF. When the last BTC ETF was just approved, funds were continuously flowing in, and during that period, $BTC was stable. Now, with the ETH ETF reversing and institutions reducing their positions, this signal doesn’t look too good.

My own judgment is that, in the short term, BTC is oscillating in the range of 76,000-78,500, without a clear directional breakout. For it to move up, we need to see the ETH ETF outflows stop, or an increase in BTC spot trading volume; honestly, the current volume of $780 million is struggling to support a big market move.

Of course, I could be wrong. Last time I thought it would consolidate, and the next day it shot up 5%, and I just sat there empty-handed while it climbed—that feeling isn’t great.

If I were to open a position now, I would test the long around 76,200, with a stop-loss below 75,500, keeping my position under 20%. If it breaks below 75,500, I would accept it and bail, not holding on.

What do you all think about the ETH ETF outflow? Is this a short-term reallocation, or are institutions really pulling out?
