The new version strengthens the connection with Bitcoin, including improved Stacking mining efficiency, Clarity language upgrades, better bridging functions, decentralized mining, Bitcoin native asset support, etc. Specifically, this upgrade will enable miners to mine through local isolated verification or taproot UTXO, thereby improving the degree of decentralization of mining. Stacks version 2.1 unlocks the ability to send Stacks assets directly to a Bitcoin address. Only the owner of the Bitcoin address can control the assets on the Stacks chain through a specially designed smart contract that can identify their Bitcoin transactions as contract calls.
