After opening a position on a long-term timeframe, the most important thing boils down to two words: patience.

The direction is set, your position is in, and the plan is ready; what’s left isn’t about staring at the charts every day and second-guessing yourself, but rather patiently holding your ground.

As for how to wait, everyone has their own method.

For me, it’s reading books, gaming, or traveling to shift my focus away from the charts a bit. During this time, you’ll realize that time actually flies.

So fast that when you look back, you’ll find that many of those ups and downs were just noise in the process.

In long-term trading, it’s often not about how many times you’re right each day, but who can calmly hold their position before the plan gets wrecked.
