Plasma (Ethereum scaling technology)
Definition
Plasma is a Layer 2 scaling solution proposed in 2017 by Vitalik Buterin (co-founder of Ethereum) and Joseph Poon (co-author of the Lightning Network).
The goal is to reduce the transaction burden on the Ethereum main chain by processing a large number of operations through "child chains" and only performing secure settlements on the main chain.

Brief Explanation of Principles
Plasma will establish many "child chains (Plasma chains)" or "Plasma contracts" to conduct transactions there.
The main chain is only responsible for "final settlement" and "fraud proof." If the operator of a child chain is dishonest, users can still withdraw their funds through the main chain by initiating an "exit."
