The XRP Ledger Foundation announced on X on May 11 that Ripple's emeritus CTO, David Schwartz, has joined the organization as an honorary board member. Schwartz helped design the XRP Ledger and will support the Foundation's technical management efforts as the organization expands its executive team in operations and engineering.
In another announcement published by the Foundation on May 8, its expanded leadership structure was presented. Brett Mollin was appointed CEO, Denis Angell, CTO; Rene Huijsen, COO; and Hussein "Vet" Zangana, community director. Mollin sets the strategy alongside the board, while Angell leads the engineering work related to modifications, standards, and production contributions. The Foundation stated:
