The Evolution of Zcash: from Experiment to Private Money

🔵 It all started in 2013 — a team of cryptographers came up with Zerocash: digital money where you decide what to show the world and what to hide. This is how the idea of Zcash came about.

🔵 In 2016, the network was launched. Before the start, there was a legendary ceremony: six participants from different countries created security keys on isolated computers and then destroyed them so that no one could forge private transactions.

🔵 In 2018, updates made Zcash faster and more convenient — private transactions finally worked even on mobile wallets.

🔵 In 2021, the team completely rewrote the proof system: now Zcash no longer needs complex ceremonies and trust in someone. Everything works by itself, transparently, and securely.

🔵 In 2025, the Zashi wallet is released — private transfers became as simple as regular ones. Against the backdrop of increasing control and surveillance, ZEC soars above $500.

Privacy is not a crime, but a choice. And Zcash reminded us why crypto was invented in the first place.
