The AAVE compensation issue isn’t a big deal this time, so there’s no need to panic. If nothing unexpected happens, the protocol’s reserve will cover it first—around $200 million. The remaining few tens of millions will be covered by the stakers. This morning at 10 a.m., they started selling the stakers’ coins, especially since among the stakers’ funds there are stablecoins and Ethereum. They likely have already raised enough money. The only thing to worry about is whether the protocol will make the same mistake a second or even third time. This is probably why many people are withdrawing. After all, if the trust issue isn’t addressed, everyone is afraid that tomorrow their money might be gone. If it happens again, there will only be a few hundred million dollars in protection left from the stakers; the rest depends on whether there’s capital inflow. Today, capital continues to flow out, and it’s already close to $6 billion. The less money the platform has, the less it can earn. Lending profits weren’t high to begin with, so this is likely going to be tough. Better not touch it. There’s also been too much movement among the internal leadership. And as for code—there’s no such thing as perfect. At the very least, wait for the new team to work together and get used to each other for half a year to a year, then see how things go
