I really like a work by Mr. Hayao Miyazaki (What kind of life do you want to live?). A year ago, after coming out of the cinema, I kept thinking about this ultimate question about life, but at that time I hadn’t found my own answer.
I and Binance
On April 8th of this year, it was the day I joined the Binance family. I feel ashamed to say that at the time I saw someone online offering 50 yuan for Binance voting, so I downloaded Binance for that 50 yuan. I was quite happy when I received the 50 yuan and shared this with my friends. At that time, I was just a complete novice, knowing nothing. I definitely couldn't have imagined how this unheard-of app would bring significant changes to my life.
"Alpha Germination"
My first deposit should have been around two hundred USDT. At that time, I wanted to complete a newbie task on the neighboring platform, so I called my friend to join me. Unfortunately, neither of us received the reward🥺🥺, and later I transferred the money back to Binance. Coincidentally, we didn't know how to transfer coins to the neighboring platform at the time, as the newbie task required depositing a token. The price was quite high, so to gather money, I transferred all my money to my friend to buy coins to transfer to the neighboring platform to complete the newbie task. But that token was in the alpha area, and at that time, I didn't know that alpha's coins couldn't be withdrawn. After he bought it, he couldn't transfer it over, so we gave up. However, this allowed him to complete an alpha interaction, so when alpha issued airdrops based on interaction history later, he received an airdrop. Unfortunately, I did not receive one; he got two or three airdrops worth over one or two thousand dollars, which was not a small amount for us. And all of this started from that beautiful accident. Later, he talked to his dad about this, and his dad probably couldn't accept things related to virtual currencies, so he withdrew and uninstalled Binance, which marked the end of my friend's short-lived Binance life. Of course, since the interaction was done with our joint money at that time, he gave me a portion when he withdrew.
(We bought spot kernels together, but the results were not satisfactory, and we both lost a lot of principal; this is also part of the reason he exited.)
After my friend left Binance, I unexpectedly came into contact with contracts. At that time, the WCT contract allowed me to earn a month's rent in one night for the first time. But the next day, it also made me experience the pain of liquidation. Thus, my Binance balance dropped from over two hundred dollars to over forty dollars in my Binance wallet. The most painful part of contracts is when their movements are entirely contrary to your expectations.
(In 'Narrow Door'), it says that expectation is the most subtle form of violence. Conversely, the moment of liquidation brings a sense of relief, with a thought of finally being able to sleep well tonight. Two hundred dollars was still a lot for me at that time; losing a month's living expenses in a short time is a painful experience. So I made up my mind not to play contracts again until I mastered enough skills, and I am glad I did.
"Alpha Early Stage"
When I had just over forty dollars left, I learned about the alpha gameplay through group chats and Binance Plaza. Everyone initially relied on guessing. So I used the over forty dollars to interact, but unfortunately, the alpha threshold had already risen to 100 dollars, causing me to miss the germination period of alpha. Later, An An released the clear rules for alpha, so I began my alpha journey. However, due to the small principal, my balance points remained at zero (later, I received living expenses and deposited another 100 dollars), and since I brushed points very little daily, I was always short of points, resulting in not receiving a single airdrop. At that time, alpha had lucky tail numbers, but unfortunately, my tail number was 7, the only one among the ten tail numbers that didn't have enough points to receive the second stage. Looking back, I was really unlucky. 😭😭😭 I brushed points every day, but after a cycle, the scores kept increasing, and there was no scoring mechanism at that time, so I perfectly missed the first stage of alpha.
"Mid Alpha" (Introduction of Scoring Mechanism)
This scoring mechanism is truly a great decision, and it is precisely because of its introduction that people like me, who have never received airdrops, can accumulate points to receive airdrops. I remember the first time I received an airdrop was on May 26th, (which means I brushed points for a whole month without receiving a single airdrop; I am grateful to my persistence.) The spot of huma was sold for 130 dollars, and I really felt a sense of relief after hardship. In the following two days, I received another spot, sold for 100 dollars, and all the previous losses came back at once. So I gradually became familiar with alpha, and then as the alpha mechanism continued to improve, moving from exchanges to wallets and back to exchanges, it became an unforgettable memory. But because the amounts were small, I had to make dozens or hundreds of trades daily to complete it; thinking back, it was really not easy.
"First Experience in Competition" (First 1000 USDT)
The first competition I participated in was AB's trading competition. I remember that everyone in the plaza group chat was discussing the competition; such things were still hard for me to accept at that time. Firstly, I didn't have enough capital, and the competition rewards were slow to issue back then. Secondly, I couldn't accept new things at that time; I hadn't even tried using limit orders. Later, with the help of group friends, I began to try the competition, and afterward, I almost never missed it, often discussing with friends how much was needed to reach the threshold. I am a cautious person, so I always brushed a little more than everyone's estimates. Because of this, I have never participated in a competition without reaching the threshold; I feel really lucky. Due to participating in the competition, my losses could be offset by the competition rewards, so my principal continuously accumulated under the dual boost of airdrops and competition rewards (there were also some activity rewards from the neighboring exchange). I remember a competition on BSC, m, cross in that issue; I participated in four out of five competitions. It was also my most profitable competition (holding 300 USDT, I brushed 260,000 in a day to take down cross; with such perseverance, I can succeed at anything.) At that time, I traded more than eight hundred times, starting from eight in the evening until three or four in the morning; it was the most tiring time since I started participating in competitions, but I am grateful to my past self. Until the rewards from the BSC competition were issued, I finally saved up my first 1000 USDT, and I was truly overwhelmed with excitement; it meant I could earn an extra fifteen points in each cycle to receive an additional airdrop. At that time, An An was also very thoughtful, sending a competition reward every ten minutes; it was really a considerate idea. Kudos to An An. (I also learned to hedge profits in competitions.)
"Small Changes in Life"
With the arrival of summer, graduation season came as expected. Thanks to An An's airdrops and competition rewards, I also had a decent income, allowing me to delay entering the workforce. During the summer vacation, I made a small change - reading. I don't know when this idea suddenly sprouted, so I started going to the library every day to read various books I always wanted to read but never had the time to. There were too many books I wanted to read, and during that period, I spent every day in the library, reading one after another. It was really a very fulfilling time. (Thanks to An An, thanks to An An's alpha, I gained the right to do what I wanted to do.)
"Contract Competition" and "Meme Coins" (First 10000 USDT)
Thanks to the explosive period of alpha in September, my income for the month even exceeded ten thousand yuan, and my principal has been continuously accumulating. Along with the recommendations from group friends, I began to try participating in contract competitions, with the first being the open (octopus) contract competition. I brushed a trading volume of thirty thousand and found out that I hadn't registered, crying in frustration. Since contract competitions only reward the top thousand, I wasted a lot of time and gave up on the first contract competition. It wasn't until later, with the arrival of holo, that I truly completed my first contract competition. I made a significant decision to participate. (Because of the liquidation I experienced during my novice period, I had always been shadowed by contracts. Shouldn't alpha competition hedging be considered playing contracts?) Later, I gradually got the hang of it and participated in several subsequent contract competitions, including zkc, aia, coai, and ff. After completing these competitions, I did not choose to hedge, as the losses were not too high; except for ff, which had a loss of 182 dollars, the rest were only a few dozen dollars. Another point is that I didn’t know when the rewards would be issued, and my principal was not much.
With the arrival of the National Day holiday, an interesting event occurred, the appearance of '4' and the explosive popularity of 'Binance Life' brought a wave of meme coins. At that time, I hadn't come into contact with meme coins, so I was late to the game and bought some meme coins upon seeing such exaggerated price increases. (Before the explosive popularity of Binance Life, I had seen it in the meme list, and I was wondering how anyone would buy something like that. I was too shortsighted and missed the opportunity for wealth. 😭😭 In fact, even if I had bought it, I wouldn't have been able to hold on nor would I invest much money. At that time, my understanding was stuck at that stage; one cannot earn money beyond their understanding.)
Later, 'Binance Life' became so popular that it made it to alpha. The first moment I saw it, I bought 50 dollars. I hardly ever trade coins, but at that moment, I strangely bought in at 50, which I considered a reasonable price. The next day, it tripled; it was my first time making money through meme coins. One day, I accidentally saw a live broadcast by a doctor in the plaza, leading fans to search for potential golden dogs. I happened to be bored and stayed in the live room until an audience member commented that the doctor should check the AMA, and CZ Plaza posted about an AMA. So the doctor brought us into the venue; it should have been at a very low position. I entered with 20 dollars, then 50 dollars (which was my maximum acceptable loss). Just a few hours later, it skyrocketed dozens of times, turning 70 dollars into over 4900 dollars. That was the first time I experienced making so much money in a day. At that time, my total balance was barely twenty thousand, but due to my greed, thinking it would rise like 'Binance Life' until it was listed on Binance alpha, I didn't sell immediately. Later, when I went to the bathroom and came back, it dropped from 4900 dollars to 1300 dollars. In a panic, I sold out, only at the price of one BNB. Afterward, due to some ridiculous operations in my second entry, I lost some more, resulting in a total profit of just over eight thousand. That night, I couldn't sleep late, always reflecting on why I was so greedy. But earning over eight thousand in one night was not a small amount for me at that time; I could only comfort myself that way. In the following days, I often went to hunt dogs with the streamer, and once I bought in for 10 USDT and sold out for 190 USDT, thanks to the big sister's post.
(A brief interlude about my first experience meeting the big sister in the live broadcast room.)
That was in April when I was watching the live broadcast on Binance Plaza. At that time, I was still a newcomer. I saw that the host invited the big sister to speak; she called herself customer service Xiao He. Initially, I thought she was just a well-known plaza blogger and didn't know who she was until later when I learned about her connection with Binance.
I remember a segment where she answered a viewer's question related to education. She said that education is great if you have it, but it's fine if you don't; Binance looks at ability. Additionally, she mentioned that Binance has many bilingual customer service representatives, emphasizing the importance of English, which left a deep impression on me. At that moment, I began to follow the big sister; she was one of the first people I followed on Binance.
With the arrival of October 11, Binance began to be slandered and rumored by many people, and the pressure on the big sister must have been increasing. I hope she can gradually adjust.
With the continuous issuance of contract rewards from last month and the profits from meme coins, my balance gradually reached around five thousand dollars (some gold was earned in between). However, yesterday, with the issuance of rewards from coai, my balance suddenly reached ten thousand USDT. I was so excited that I couldn't sleep all night. I saw the big sister reply to an article about Binance Life on X, so I decided to write down my own Binance Life. It seems I have seriously exceeded the word count requirement for the competition, but I still want to say as much as possible about the impact Binance has had on me.
In these six months, every day of my life has had the participation of Binance. Although I am just a hair-pulling party without any assets other than USDT, I avoided the major crash on October 11. But I believe I can represent many ordinary retail investors, who could get a small piece of the big cake that Binance offers. I truly feel very lucky. Binance really considers its users, giving profits to users, unlike some exchanges that profit by countering users. Additionally, Binance's alpha trading fees are the lowest among several leading exchanges. I sincerely hope Binance continues to improve.
Let me talk about my life plan. I originally planned to find a job next month to transition through the time before the new year. However, due to suddenly 'getting rich' this month, I decided to set aside the job issue for now. Ten thousand USDT is enough to give me some free time. I plan to use this time to learn some things I want to learn. I have the intention to take the IELTS, but my English level is not good, so it may take a longer period. Additionally, I want to learn some knowledge about astronomy, as I have a great interest in it. Also, I might travel to some places to see scenery I've never seen before and learn some photography. By the way, I also plan to learn some trading-related knowledge, (Wyckoff trading method), (Monetary Economics). I intend to buy these two books recommended by streamers to study, and also to start trying trading with a small position. I strive to complete the transformation from a hair-pulling party to a trader.
Thus, it seems I have an answer to the question at the beginning of the article; here is my answer.
Unknowingly, I've already written over four thousand words; it's been a long time since I've settled down to write so much. I feel that the creative process has been quite good. In the future, I might try to publish articles in the plaza, striving to become a plaza creator! (I will try to learn more and become a capable person to join Binance in the future.) I hope I can live out my own Binance life!!!
A thousand words of gratitude to Binance, to the big sister and CZ. Also, thanks to every staff member of Binance and all the users of Binance. Because of your collective participation, I believe Binance will get better and better!!!
