The Ethereum Foundation has announced that its funded Ketman project has identified 100 North Korean IT personnel infiltrating Web3 organizations over a six-month period. According to ChainCatcher, warnings were issued to approximately 53 projects about the potential employment of these individuals.
The initiative addresses the issue of 'fake developers' within the crypto industry and is part of the ETH Rangers public safety funding program. Ketman has also developed an open-source detection tool for identifying suspicious GitHub activity and collaborated with the Security Alliance to establish an industry framework for recognizing North Korean IT personnel.
