[Binance Life] A little excerpt from the book:
(around 2006)
---
Not long after, we heard that a hospital was rolling out a new management system. Although we had zero knowledge about the medical industry, we were eager to give it a shot.
The hospital director loved his drinks. During the dinner, he specifically brought two bottles of Maotai. Even though my foreign colleague and I weren't used to drinking baijiu, we knew it was a crucial part of sealing the deal. We had our first taste of the Chinese art of toasting and ended up totally smashed.
Two hours later, the serious matters were long forgotten. I hazily settled the bill, and we stumbled into a taxi. As soon as the cab hit the elevated ring road, we couldn't help but feel queasy. We quickly rolled down the windows, one on each side, and spent the ride back to our hotel throwing up into the night. That night, we certainly left our 'mark' in Shanghai.
Despite our hard partying, we ultimately didn't land that project...
